Common Questions

Mobile notary — frequently asked.

What is a mobile notary?

A mobile notary is a commissioned notary public who travels to the client's location to notarize documents, rather than requiring the client to come to an office. Magnolia Chambers & Co. offers mobile notary services throughout the Houston metropolitan area — traveling to your home, office, hospital, care facility, or any agreed-upon location at a scheduled appointment time.

What documents can a mobile notary notarize?

Common documents notarized include powers of attorney, wills and trust documents, real estate deeds, affidavits, loan closings, medical authorization forms, vehicle titles, business contracts, and court-related documents. If you are unsure whether your document requires notarization, contact us and we will advise you.

What should I bring to a mobile notary appointment?

You must bring a current, government-issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, or state ID). The document to be notarized should be complete but unsigned — you must sign in the notary's presence. If witnesses are required (such as for a will or power of attorney), they must also be present with valid photo ID.

How much does mobile notary service cost?

Fees vary depending on the number of signatures, document type, and travel distance within the Houston area. Contact us for a quote. Texas law sets a maximum notary fee per notarial act, and any travel fee is disclosed in advance. There are no hidden charges.

Can a mobile notary come to a hospital or care facility?

Yes. We regularly serve clients at hospitals, rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities, and nursing homes throughout Houston. If a client has a medical situation that makes travel difficult, we will come to them. Please contact us in advance so we can coordinate with facility staff if needed.

How far in advance do I need to schedule a mobile notary?

We recommend scheduling at least 24–48 hours in advance, though same-day and next-day appointments are available based on availability. For urgent situations, call us directly at (832) 562-6254 and we will do our best to accommodate.

What areas does your mobile notary serve?

We serve the greater Houston metropolitan area, including Houston proper, Sugar Land, Pearland, The Woodlands, Katy, Cypress, Spring, Humble, Friendswood, League City, and surrounding communities. Contact us to confirm service at your specific location.

Is your notary also an attorney?

Yes. Magnolia Chambers & Co. is founded by Linyanta 'Lynn' Nwosu, JD, LCSW, a licensed Texas attorney. Our notary services are backed by legal knowledge and professional standards. However, notarization is a ministerial act and does not constitute legal advice. If you have legal questions about the document being notarized, we can discuss those services separately.
